This article presents two clinical case reports examining the use of buprenorphine in palliative care for patients receiving long-term opioid substitution therapy. The authors discuss the challenges associated with discontinuing buprenorphine, review current evidence regarding pain management, and suggest that continuing buprenorphine alongside appropriate analgesic therapy may provide better symptom control while reducing withdrawal-related complications in palliative care patients.
