Abstract

Severe obesity has been associated with numerous comorbidities and reduced health-related quality of life (HRQoL). This study evaluated a conventional neural network model for predicting 5-year HRQoL after bariatric surgery using preoperative information from the Scandinavian Obesity Surgery Registry. The model outperformed conventional linear regression in the test dataset, although overfitting remained a concern.
